Born and raised in the Chicago ‘burbs. Left for a pretty long time for some Army work and didn’t look forward to returning… until I was back. Love Chicago and now live on the North Side in a nice quiet hood with my wife and dog.
Things I’ve gotten paid for (or still do):
- Stockboy, Paint department, Serviceroom, and Cashier in a Home / Garden / Lumber place
- “Videographer” at a Dude Ranch in Colorado. Filmed guests for a week and editing it down for them and duplicating it for purchase at the end of their stay.
- Radio DJ at a public radio station… I played Punk Rock on a Jazz station. That’s where I learned Jazz.
- Soldier for the U.S. Army… 8 years worth, mostly in Germany with a couple ‘trips’ to Bosnia and one to Kosovo.
- Helping an old man push his car to the side of the road out of traffic (didn’t want money until he said that he insisted I buy myself and a friend a beer).
- Computer Lab Support for a major IT company
- Bar Security (bouncer sounds like I’m a thug)
- Private Security (body guard type stuff… only a couple times)
- Club Manager - Live music venue / dance club
